Meet Dr. Kelly Harrison: Founder of K2 Light Therapy
Doctor of Chiropractic | Laser Therapy Specialist | 20+ Years of Clinical Experience
K2 Light Therapy began in a treatment room, not a boardroom. After 20 years helping patients heal, Dr Kelly Harrison set out to make clinical-grade red light therapy simple, effective, and accessible at home.
From Small Town Roots to Clinical Expertise
K2 Light Therapy began long before the company existed. It started in Dr. Kelly Harrison’s treatment room. For over 20 years, he watched how people heal, how pain works, and how science-backed tools help recovery.
Dr Harrison grew up in Olds, Alberta. Living in a small community taught him honesty, practical solutions, and caring for people the right way.
He studied at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2002.
He then practiced in Calgary for 13 years. His approach combined chiropractic care, soft-tissue therapy, and new laser technologies. He helped many patients, from recreational athletes to seniors to Olympic competitors.
His goal was simple: give care that works and shows real results. Every therapy and tool was guided by science, experience, and patient outcomes.
How Light Changed the Game in Healing
In the early 2000s, Class IV medical laser therapy was new in Canada. Dr. Harrison started using it early because research showed it could help cells heal, reduce inflammation, and improve blood flow.
The results he saw in his patients were clear:
- Faster muscle and soft-tissue recovery
- Less pain and swelling
- Better movement and flexibility
- Stronger long-term results for chronic injuries
The benefits were real and consistent. For Dr. Harrison, light therapy became more than a support tool. It became a key part of healing and recovery.
Bringing Clinical Healing Home
Over time, patients began asking: Can I get the same results at home? And do online red light panels really work?
The consumer market was growing, but many devices were not reliable. Some had weak power, the wrong wavelengths, poor heat control, or made claims that didn’t match real science.
Dr. Harrison knew that precise wavelengths and correct power levels were critical for results. Most at-home devices didn’t meet those standards.
He saw a clear gap: people wanted real therapy at home, but the technology wasn’t ready. That gap became the reason for building K2 Light Therapy.
Creating a Home Device That Meets Clinical Standards
In 2024, Dr. Harrison began developing K2 Light Therapy. His goal was clear: make an at-home device that works like clinical tools, without extra hype. Every design choice followed four principles:
Science-Aligned Wavelengths
Only the best wavelengths were chosen based on research: 630 nm, 660 nm, 810 nm, 830 nm, and 850 nm. These help cells produce energy, reduce inflammation, repair tissue, boost collagen, and support joint recovery.
True Therapeutic Power
The focus was on consistent, safe power and even light distribution. Every panel delivers real results across its full surface.
Practical Design for Real Users
Panels are 12 inches wide for full coverage. Heat control is improved, EMF is low, and high-quality LEDs keep working reliably over time.
Precision Over Hype
Every feature was chosen for function, not looks. No shortcuts. Every decision is backed by science. Multiple prototypes and testing cycles made sure K2 meets clinical expectations.
Trusted, Safe, and Built on Science
K2 Light Therapy was never meant to be a trend. It was built to bring clinical-quality tools into homes.
Every device is developed under Dr. Harrison’s guidance. They are made in facilities with CE, FDA, RoHS, ISO9001, and ISO13485 certifications. Each panel meets medical device standards for safety and quality.
K2 is still based in Olds, Alberta. Dr. Harrison continues practicing at Prairie Dog Wellness, using his clinical experience to guide every update, improvement, and new product.
The brand focuses on reliability, transparency, and science-backed results. K2 devices give people the confidence that their light therapy is safe, effective, and long-lasting.

He also spends time with their Mini Goldendoodle, Maggie Tallula.
Even while leading a growing health technology brand, he stays grounded. Community, family, and balance remain at the heart of his life.
A Personal Message from Dr. Harrison
Good health doesn’t need to be complicated. When something works, you feel it. Light therapy has supported my patients for more than 20 years, and I wanted to bring that same benefit into people’s homes. K2 is built with science, shaped by real clinical results, and developed with care. I’m grateful to share this technology with you.
